When a Tulum-inspired restaurant and tequila bar landed on King’s Road, we were intrigued. Now, we’re impressed. Named after the Mayan goddess of the moon, female head chef Ximean Gayosso Gonzalez heads up the kitchen at Ixchel – combining her love for creativity and food. The dishes are aimed to not only taste delicious but look beautiful too. Upon entry, you’ll find smaller tables as well the main tequila bar – a great spot to continue the night post dinner. Downstairs, you’ll stumble upon larger ‘sharing’ tables, where various groups can be seated together – encouraging the Mexican spirit of openness and unlatched communication. The design will find you at ease – bringing neutral tones together with delicate, more vibrant accents.

Top tip: The music volume increases as the night goes on, so plan a night with a big group!
