Shophouses

Destination

The ancient, traditional houses in Singapore are those called Shophouses – mainly present in the neighbourhoods of Clarke Quay, Katong-Joo Chiat, Chinatown and Emerald Hill. There’s a total of 6,500 of them in the city, some of which are accessible to the public, while others remain private residences of local Singaporeans. We recommend taking a stroll through the area of Joo Chiat and stopping by King’s Cart Coffee Factory for a cool down – for some unique coffee and Matcha variations.
